There’s been a huge surge of excitement in the Path of Exile community lately, and it’s all centred around the long-rumoured Druid class finally becoming real. For months, it was just whispers and a few speculative posts, but now it’s snowballed into full-on hype. Players are talking on Discord, Reddit threads are exploding, and more and more folks are proudly calling themselves “tree believers.” The upcoming “The Last of the Druids” league isn’t just another patch—it genuinely feels like it could shake up the whole meta. Even long-time players who’ve stuck with their favourite builds for years are already planning how they’ll switch things up, loading their wishlists with PoE 2 Items for when day one hits.
The Druid’s design is hitting all the right notes with players who hate being locked into one style. One minute you’re casting a wild lightning storm from range, the next you shift into a hulking bear, swiping through whatever’s left standing. It’s that mix of fluid combat and thematic fantasy that people can’t stop talking about. And it’s not just the shapeshifting—summoning packs of wolves or calling nature-themed allies gives it a bit of the summoner flavour, while the bear form offers ways to tank through heavy boss hits without having to play defensively the entire time. That variety seems perfect for anyone bored of single-track gameplay.
There’s already a ton of theorycrafting going on. The roadmap leading to the big release has kept momentum high. The Huntress is dropping in April 2025, and Act 4 lands in August 2025, each building anticipation for Patch 0.4.0 in December. When “The Last of the Druids” launches on December 12, the fresh league start means everyone jumps in with a clean slate—new economy, nature-themed uniques, and whatever league mechanic GGG has been cooking up. Plus, there’s a free weekend from December 12–15, giving curious newcomers a perfect shot to dive in, try the Druid, and maybe join the “tree believer” crowd. With that reset and so much new content, grabbing some PoE 2 Items cheap might just be the best way to hit the ground running when the wild finally arrives.
